Golf Alpin: Summer golfing pleasure by the lake

For, after a sweaty round of golf, what could be more glorious than diving into the cool water of a bathing lake, or just letting your feet dangle in the water?

The golf regions in SalzburgerLand and Tyrol thus have a lot to offer.  Such as the Achensee, the largest of the Tyrolean lakes. And for a real mountain lake, the temperature in summer can be really seen. At a good 22°C, jumping into the water is not so hard. Especially when you have just finished your round at the Golf Club Achensee. This, the oldest golf course in the county impresses not only with its great flat course, but also with the impressive mountain panorama.

With even more pleasant temperatures, the Schwarzsee in Kitzbühel awaits. This moor lake boasts even more with a few extra degrees. But first, golfers are drawn onto the 18-hole course of the Kitzbühel Schwarzsee Golf Club.  Here, much like on the legendary Streif ski descent, there is even a bit of a trap with the fairway which goes over a small canyon. So, a real challenge is also provided.

The Zeller Lake is a real hot spot for relaxing on the lake amidst Alpine mountain scenery in SalzburgerLand. The Golf Club Zell am See-Kaprun-Saalbach-Hinterglemm was opened in 1984, with only nine holes at that time, but which quickly turned into 18 fairways. And that was a historical moment, as it was the first club in SalzburgerLand with 18 holes. Later, it was extended again to its now 36 holes! Both courses, named after the Kitzsteinhorn and Schmittenhöhe Mountains, are good to play despite the many water hazards and roughs. And afterwards Lake Zell, with its crystal clear waters, invites you to swim with the magnificent panorama of the snow-capped glacier of the Kitzsteinhorn always in view.

Visitors can expect a completely different atmosphere at Lake Goldegg and on the golf course in Goldegg. This wonderful course on a high plateau above the Salzach Valley in the Pongau region with its Alpine meadows, ancient trees and biotopes, promises a challenging and multifaceted game. And right next to it, the Goldegger Moorsee beckons. With its 26°C water temperature, it is considered one of the warmest moorland lakes in Austria. But don't worry, even 26 degrees can be quite refreshing after a sweaty round of golf.

In an almost unreal turquoise colour, the crystal clear Lake Fuschl shines in the sun. And best of all, at the Golf Club Waldhof you get very close to the lake. Teeing off on this 9-hole golf course is simply more enjoyable in this unique setting. And it gets even better. As part of the Fuschlsee Golf Club, after the first part of the game you head across the lake on a small barge to the Fuschl Palace Golf Club, where the second 9-holes are played. The halfway point can be taken in the castle fishery or on the Waldhof Alm with a ploughman’s lunch.

And then, there's the Lake Mondsee. And directly at the lake, the 18-hole course Golf Club am Mondsee, the light blue waters and the rugged beauty of the mountains of the nearby Salzkammergut are a feast for the eyes even before teeing off. Then, after a round of golf, everyone can decide whether they want to continue athletically or in a relaxed way by the water.

In addition, on a Golf Alpin holiday there are also the lakes of the Ritzensee in SalzburgerLand, Mieminger Bathing lake and Lake Lanser which are ideal for refreshing swimming fun.
