The Holiday Region National Park Hohe Tauern, the last large connected nature and culture paradise in the Eastern Alps, is located in the middle of the SalzburgerLand, "the small paradise". At more than thousand square kilometers nature is preserved and protected here, but also made accessible to the interested visitor. 19 small villages are the starting points for a journey of the senses. Hospitality is still authentic and heart-felt here. On top of that, you will find varied and economy-priced sportive, cultural, and social offers.
Today, more than 1000 km (!) of hiking trails have been created and marked. Hiking and mountain guides, National Park rangers, an alpine school, and special National Park Info Points in almost every village help the alpine novice become an expert. The best way to discover the natural and cultural specialties is by means of especially created instruction and experience trails. All of them can be used alone and, of course, free of charge: We do, however, recommend guided tours for an intensive natural experience (offered by our rangers and included in holiday packages).
The sportive possibilities in the region are impressive, too. In addition to golfing, you can enjoy riding, paragliding, bicycling, playing tennis and squash, mountain biking, fishing, crossbow shooting, swimming, sailing, and surfing ... or you could simply lie down in a meadow and enjoy life.
